Rottweilers are one of the oldest and most popular breeds of companion and working dogs.  Their lineage dates back to the days before the Roman Empire, where these stout and powerful dogs traveled with the Legions and helped them manage livestock.  These dogs evolved from simple cattle herding dogs into the Rottweilers we know today.
