Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA)
Chromated Copper Arsenate, or CCA, is a chemical preservative that is used to protect wood from being destroyed by wood-boring insects. CCA is largely used to pressure treat lumber intended for outdoor uses such as home, school, community playgrounds, decks, and landscape timbers. CCA-treated lumber is also used in building structures.
CCA contains arsenic, which presents a danger to the individuals exposed to it. Arsenic is a metallic element that is highly poisonous to humans. Prolonged exposure to CCA has been known to accelerate the on-set of various diseases, including cancer. While fatalities as a direct result of exposure to CCA are rare, they can occur, especially to individuals who fail to use protective breathing devices while working extensively with treated wood products.
If you or a loved one has been exposed to CCA, or have recently been diagnosed with an arsenic-related illness or condition, you may be entitled to compensation in keeping with the pain and suffering you have endured. Contact a compassionate and experienced CCA attorney for more information regarding your case. Do not let the pain of your condition blind you to the benefits of seeking compensation from those who are responsible for your suffering.
