early results indicated that Cefepime showed a higher probability
for early death to occur in the patients who were involved
in the study.
Although the results are preliminary in nature, the Food and Drug Administration has published a warning for health care professionals to provide notice of the potential increased risk associated with Cefepime. The FDA is also working with Bristol-Myers Squib in further evaluating the drug, and this analysis is expected to last four months.
