Mifeprex

The Mifeprex pill, commonly called the RU486 pill or abortion pill, was first approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2000.  Unfortunately, by 2002 six women in the United States and one in Canada died after they developed serious complications.  Approximately 1 out of every 200,000 women will die when they use the Mifeprex pill, and as of March 2006 two more women are reported to have died due to the drug.

Three women who took RU 486 suffered ruptured ectopic pregnancies, and sadly one died.  Furthermore, two more women developed serious and critical bacterial infections, which ultimately caused another death of one of the women.  One woman even suffered a heart attack allegedly caused by the Mifeprex pill, even though she was far younger than most women who suffer these life-changing events.  Septic shock is also a common cause of death around the world for women who take the abortion pill.

Part of the danger of the Mifeprex pill is that there are no warnings that the drug is causing harm.  There are instances of young women going to the emergency room to seek help for their pain and suffering, only to be turned away without speaking to qualified medical personnel.  Bleeding is also a significant concern for women who take the RU486 pill, and a woman in Iowa nearly bled to death after an incomplete abortion caused by the pill.

The RU486 is an incredibly dangerous drug that virtually all women can use without adequate warning or consultation.  If you or someone you love was injured or killed by the Mifeprex RU486 abortion pill, you need to contact a lawyer immediately.  You could be entitled to collect financial restitution for your pain and suffering, but if you do not act quickly the statute of limitations in your state could end your case before it has a chance to being.  Contact a Mifeprex attorney today.
