Mobic

According to David Graham, associate director for science and medicine of the Office of Drug Safety at the Food and Drug Administration, Mobic is allegedly more likely to cause heart attacks, strokes, and cardiovascular problems than dangerous drugs like Vioxx or Celebrex.  Mobic is now the most prescribed pain killer in America ever since Merck removed Vioxx from the market in September 2004

While some countries around the world consider Mobic to be a member of the COX-2 Inhibitor group that includes Vioxx, Celebrex, and Bextra, the United States Food and Drug Administration classifies it as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, or NSAID.  Due to the current legal difficulties of most COX-2 Inhibitors, Mobic sales are expected to exceed $1 billion in 2006.

The FDA and outside scientists studied data gathered by California’s Medicaid program of more than 15,000 heart attack patients and determined that the risk of a heart attack was statistically higher compared to Vioxx and Celebrex.  Out of the 15,000 heart attacks, Mobic was 1.37 times higher to cause an event, where Vioxx was 1.32 and Celebrex was 1.09

Make sure that if you or someone you love developed serious medical side effects because of Mobic, you need to consult a dedicated and experienced defective drug attorney immediately.  You could be entitled to take legal action against those responsible for your condition, but if you hesitate the statute of limitation laws in your state could cause you to lose your right to the compensation you deserve.  Contact a Mobic lawyer today.
