Zicam Cold Remedy

June 17, 2009 Zicam is back in the news again, as the FDA has issued a warning for people to not use Zicam products due to reports of people with loss of smell. Because a potential class action lawsuit may take place, if you were injured from Zicam - act now by filling out our free case review.

Zicam is a popular nasal cold gel based on the element zinc.  Zinc is the fourth most common metal used in America, but unfortunately causes a condition called Anosmia.  Anosmia is results in a total loss of smell and partial loss of taste.  Aside from significantly reducing or eliminating two important senses, victims of Anosmia cannot detect fires, gas leaks, or other dangerous fumes or chemicals.

Zinc-containing products do not require FDA approval before launched into the market, and many consumers are unaware of the dangers of using zinc in their noses.  Years of research illustrate that not only is zinc dangerous to the delicate tissues in the nasal cavity, but that its purported effects on congestion are negligible at best.

Zicam comes in a number of products, each of which has the potential to cause serious and permanent damage to the sense of smell.  Matrixx Initiatives, Inc. is responsible for Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel, Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs, Zicam Extreme Congestion Relief, Zicam Allergy Relief Nasal Gel, Zicam Sinus Relief, Zicam Kids Size Cold Remedy Swabs, and Zicam Nasal Moisturizer.  None of these products must carry any indication of possible negative side effects.

If Zicam robbed you or someone you love of their most precious sense of smell, you could be entitled to financial compensation for your loss or suffering.  You must act quickly, for laws called statutes of limitations restrict how much time you have to press your case.  Make sure that you contact a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Zicam lawyer today.
