Warning for Denture Cream Users - Zinc Toxicity Possible
The maker of the popular denture cream brands Super Poligrip, GlaxoSmithKline has released a warning for all consumers of its denture cream products.

GlaxoSmithKline in late February 2010, issued a “communication alert” for the potential health risks from using their denture cream products that contain zinc.
Denture Cream brands named in the Lawsuit
Super Poligrip Original, Super Poligrip Ultra Fresh, and Super Poligrip Extra Care.
The communication alert was sent to doctors and other medical professionals to alert any patients, who use denture cream, understand the possible risks of long term use.
The following is a statement made on the GSK website:
"We are taking these actions because we have become aware of potential health problems associated with the long-term excessive use of our zinc-containing denture adhesive products".
The possible link to Zinc Poisoning or neuropathy has been studied by the medical community and has issued reports on ingestion of zinc from using denture cream.
Zinc can be an intestinal irritant, and common signs of zinc poisoning may include intestinal distress such as vomiting, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and nausea.
